# Derelict — RSV Osprey Verge — room key

RSV Osprey Verge is under quarantine, by its own crew, in the end by whoever was left. Something came aboard in a cargo lot and moved through the ship in days. Medbay is sealed. There are marks on the doors, from the inside.

Last log entry: Dr. Lindqvist. Their trail runs through three rooms.

Hook: Lot 14's shipper has a second consignment on the way to a colony of forty thousand.

## Main deck

**1. Bridge**

Consoles dark. One chair is turned to face the door.
Log fragment (Cpt.): "Set the beacon to WARN OFF. If a ship answers anyway, they were warned."

**2. Crew quarters**

Vacuum. Suit up. Lockers open. Whatever was worth taking has been taken.
Hazard: one bunk is still occupied and the occupant is still warm.
Trail 3/3: The code from the last room opens the locker here. Inside, Lindqvist's own recording of the last day. It is the first account aboard from someone who was there.

**3. Galley**

Table set for six. Frost on the plates.
Log fragment, scratched into the table: "we kept it out of the galley for nine days"
Trail 2/3: Lindqvist got this far. One set of boot prints in the dust, heading for the crew quarters (2), and a door code scratched into the frame.

**4. Medbay**

Battery light blinking. The last treatment is still on the screen.
Hazard: contagion. The isolation field failed with the power. Anyone who breathes here unfiltered is part of the story now.
Salvage: full trauma kit, sealed, and a case of broad-spectrum antivirals that did not work.

**5. Cargo hold**

Something moved in here — recently. Containers cut open, not unlocked.
Log fragment (Deckhand): "Lot 14 was breathing when we loaded it. Told the XO. XO said crates don't breathe."
Salvage: forty crates. Lot 14 is open. The others are worth a fortune to someone who does not ask where they came from.

**6. Armoury**

Dark. Emergency lighting only. Racks empty. The lock was cut from the inside.
Hazard: bodies, arranged. Someone took care over this. Disturb them and the air changes.
Trail 1/3: Dr. Lindqvist's slate, screen cracked. The last entry: "Going to the galley (3). Back in ten." Nothing after it.

**7. Engineering**

Reactor cold. Tools laid out for a repair nobody finished.

**8. Drive section**

Cold. The torch has not fired in weeks.
