Encounter Builder

An Obsidian plugin for planning fights. List the party and the monsters in a note and it adds up the XP against the 5E encounter budget (low, moderate or high) or Pathfinder 2e's (trivial to extreme). This page runs the real plugin code in your browser. Add a goblin or two, watch the bar move, then press Start fight to hand it to Quick Initiative.

The encounter is plain lines in the note. The 329 SRD monsters need only their name (2x Owlbear); anything else takes a CR on the line (Bandit boss cr 2) or a linked creature note.

The plus and minus buttons change the count in the note. Take a creature to zero to remove it.
Try Troll cr 5 in the box: it goes past the High budget, and a note warns that one action from it could take a level 3 character out.
Set a default party in settings and you can leave the party out of each encounter.
