Hullbound: the itch page

The page is up (https://bananafestdestiny.itch.io/hullbound). Tap a file name to download it.

Update it (23 Oct), about 5 minutes

  1. Download hullbound-itch.zip (23 Oct, 280 KB). It has the season, the first stop a few minutes in, and Report this line.
  2. On the page, Edit game. Under Uploads, delete the old zip, upload this one, and tick "This file will be played in the browser".
  3. Pricing: $0 or donate, suggested donation $3.99. Not "No payments", which turns off the donation Shipwright is bought with.
  4. Short description: Take a crew to a far port on a ship you draw. Every voyage is an episode, written from your choices.
  5. Description: tap Copy under Description below and paste it over the old one.
  6. Screenshots: add desk-episode.png and drag it to the front.
  7. Save. Then post the devlog from the devlog page (Devlog, Create new post, Type: Major update).

How it was set up the first time (21 Oct), for reference:

  1. Make a new project on itch. Title: Hullbound. Project URL: hullbound.
  2. Short description: Take a crew to a far port on a ship you draw. Every voyage is an episode, written from your choices. (23 Oct; was the starship you draw and a choice at every base)
  3. Kind of project: HTML. Release status: In development. Pricing: $0 or donate, with a suggested donation of $3.99. (Changed 23 Oct. Not "No payments": Shipwright on the web is a donation of $3.99 or more on this page, and No payments turns donations off.)
  4. Uploads: hullbound-itch.zip, tick "This file will be played in the browser".
  5. Embed options: 820 x 760. Tick Mobile friendly, Fullscreen button, and Automatically start on page load.
  6. Description: tap Copy below and paste it in. (21 Oct, later: one new line about the music. Paste the whole thing again over the old one.)
  7. Genre: Simulation. Tags: idle, incremental, management, sci-fi, space, survival, colony-sim, choices-matter, singleplayer, mobile
  8. AI disclosure: Yes, tick Graphics, Code and Text. The ship on the logo is from an image model (gpt-image-1); the name on it is set in a font by code. The cover and banner painting is from the same image model, with the words set by code. Everything in the game is drawn by its code, and the screenshots are screenshots of the game.
  9. Cover image: cover-630x500.png. Banner (Edit theme, Banner): banner-960x300.png. Screenshots: the five below, in this order.
  10. Save, set it public, and send me the link. I play it there and tell you if anything is off.

The grown ship and the 30 hours away were reached by running the game's own sim faster than real time. A new player starts on the small ship in the phone shot.
