Hullbound: the launch devlog

Upload first. This post goes out the day the Hullbound page goes up, after the files on the itch kit (hullbound-itch.zip, played in the browser, and the description from that page, which has the season in it). It replaces the earlier draft of this devlog, which was never posted.
On the Hullbound page: Devlog, then Create new post.

Title

Hullbound is up: every voyage is an episode, written from your choices

Body

made by a vibecoded app. the story lines in it are written as you play by claude, anthropic's ai model

hullbound is up. six people on a small ship you can redraw, heading for a port a few real days away. they eat, sleep and keep the air going on their own, a minute a minute, and raiders board about once a day whether you're watching or not

every voyage is an episode. season 1 is the long quiet, six episodes. the first starts with a courier who wants passage and a sealed case chained to their wrist, and they won't say what's in it. what you choose at one stop comes back at the next, and the ending depends on it. claude writes each line from an outline of the season and the choices you made, so two crews hear different things. the costs and numbers are the game's own and the story never changes them. if claude can't be reached, the season's written lines play instead

the first stop comes a few minutes after you set out. after that the ship docks about once a day and a choice waits: fuel paid in food or parts, a passenger, a shortcut through a debris field, a crew member too sick to go on. leave it twelve hours and the captain picks the safe one

episode 1 is free. shipwright opens the rest of season 1, more decks and up to 50 crew. to get it, support the game on this page with $3.99 or more, then put the email you paid with into the game's settings and it mails you a link that turns it on

the ship sails on while you're away. put an email in and you get one mail when it docks, with a link back to your crew and a link to stop them. to play on another device, make an account and log in there: https://bulkhead.bananafest-destiny.com/crew/

it's early. if something breaks, or a choice feels like it doesn't matter, say so in the comments
