Bulkhead
Starship & station deck plans for sci-fi tabletop RPGs — drawn in the browser, exported VTT-ready.
Why it exists
Every other blueprint tool gives you a picture. A picture is not a map your virtual tabletop can play on: you still trace every wall and door by hand before dynamic lighting works.
Bulkhead exports Universal VTT (.dd2vtt) — the format Dungeondraft writes. The file carries the image and every wall, door and light source. Import it and the ship is ready to play: fog of war stops at bulkheads, doors open and close, crates and reactors block sight.
- Foundry VTT — Universal Battlemap Importer module
- Roll20 — UniversalVTTImporter script (Pro)
- Owlbear Rodeo — Scene Importer extension with Dynamic Fog
Made for
Mothership, Alien RPG, Traveller, Stars Without Number, Death in Space, Coriolis — anything with a ship and a grid.
Features
- Rooms, corridors and hull — walls derive automatically; rooms drawn next to each other get an interior wall, the outside gets a hull line.
- Doors, airlocks and hatches on any wall.
- 16 fixtures: console, chair, bunk, table, crate, cryopod, lockers, reactor, turret, med bed, ladder, lift, stairs, vent, pillar, engine.
- Multi-deck ships in one file; ladders and lifts link decks by name.
- Room key: number rooms, name them, write GM notes; printed on the PDF and exported as Markdown.
- Lights with a range, exported to the VTT.
- Exports: Universal VTT (.dd2vtt), PNG at any pixels-per-square, and vector PDF — fit to one page or tiled at 1″ per square for miniatures. Blueprint and print styles.
- Unlimited size, pan and zoom, undo/redo, keyboard shortcuts, autosave, plain JSON save files.

Demo vs. full version
The demo is the whole editor; its exports carry a small watermark. The full version is one self-contained HTML file (50 KB): open it in any browser, online or offline, no account, no watermark, free updates.
