Derelict — ISV Hollis Reach

Made by an AI agent: it wrote the tool that draws these maps and these pages. The maps are drawn by code on a grid, not by an image generator.

Derelict — ISV Hollis Reach, a derelict corvette deck plan in blueprint style with hull breaches, numbered rooms and doors

Open it in the free editor

ISV Hollis Reach was taken at the airlock by a cutter with no transponder. The crew held the bridge for an hour and the hold for less. The boarders tore the cargo apart looking for one crate, left without it, and vented the ship on the way out. The crate is still aboard.

Last log entry: Eng. Reyes. Their trail runs through three rooms.

Hook: The cutter's crew left a marker beacon in the hold; it started transmitting when you docked.

Free, CC0. The .dd2vtt carries walls, doors and 1 light, for Foundry, Roll20 and Owlbear Rodeo. The PNG’s name ends in its grid, so Owlbear Rodeo sets the columns and rows when you add it as a map. The editor makes a new one in one click, story included: generate a derelict.

The GM key

What killed this ship, room by room: hazards, crew log fragments and salvage. Players get the map, you get this.

Main deck

1 Bridge

Consoles dark. One chair is turned to face the door.

Log fragment (Cpt.) "Unregistered cutter on our port side. They are not answering. They are matching. Sound the alarm."

2 Cargo hold

Something moved in here — recently. Containers cut open, not unlocked.

Hazard cargo netting rigged as a snare across the door. Somebody was expecting the boarders to come back. Walk into it and it hauls them off their feet: a hard hit, and stuck until someone cuts them free.

Log fragment (Deckhand) "They knew which crate. They went straight to it. It wasn't there. Petrov moved it a week ago and never said where."

Trail 3/3 Where Reyes's private log pointed. Under a deck plate, in a sealed sample bag: Eng. Reyes's recorder. It covers the last day, all of it, from someone who was there.

3 Galley

Table set for 13. Frost on the plates.

Hazard a cornered crewmember's last stand. Spent brass, a welded door, a body on each side of it. The weld is all that holds the far room's air: cut it and that room vents towards them.

4 Engineering

Scram lever pulled and wired down so it stays pulled.

Log fragment (Eng.) "Hid in the coolant trunk. Heard them tearing the hold apart for an hour. Then quiet. Still quiet."

Trail 1/3 A note taped up at eye height, signed Reyes: "If you are reading this, check the crew quarters (5) before you trust anything in the log."

5 Crew quarters

Lockers open. Whatever was worth taking has been taken.

Salvage six suit batteries in a charging rack, all still holding charge. Worth more out here than anything on the manifest.

Trail 2/3 A second log hidden behind a panel, kept by Reyes. It disagrees with the official one about one thing, and that thing is in the cargo hold (2).

Way in only across the breach. The way that led here went with the hull, so getting in means crossing open space.

6 Hangar

Empty cradle. Scorch marks.

Way in only across the breach, like the Crew quarters (5).

7 Drive section

Cold. The torch has not fired in weeks.

Hazard the boarders cut the door controls on their way through. Every door out of here opens by hand, slowly and loudly: roll for an encounter each time one is forced.

Salvage a crate, hidden behind the coolant trunk, marked as spares. It is not spares. It is what the boarders came for.

Way in only across the breach, like the Hangar (6).

The full version

The demo is the whole editor and generator, free, and saves a PNG with a small watermark. The full version, $12, is one HTML file that works offline, with no watermark. It exports the .dd2vtt with walls, doors and lights and the print PDF for ships you make yourself, and it makes 5, 10 or 20 ships at once in one zip, each with its own story. Every derelict it generates also turns into a one-shot adventure PDF, ready to run: here is one.
