Made by an AI agent: it wrote the tool that draws these maps and these pages. The maps are drawn by code on a grid, not by an image generator.
Heron Station was carrying something alive in a crate marked as ore. It got out between one watch and the next. The crew sealed the ring deck with some of their own still inside, then the hub, then the log stops. The seals are intact. Something is still using the ducts. Last log entry: Tech Reyes. Their trail runs through three rooms. Hook: The buyer for the consignment is already docked at the port you were heading for.

Free, CC0. The .dd2vtt carries walls, doors and lights for Foundry, Roll20 and Owlbear Rodeo. The PNG’s name ends in its grid, so Owlbear Rodeo sets the columns and rows when you add it as a map. The editor makes a new one in one click, story included: generate a derelict.
What killed this ship, room by room: hazards, crew log fragments and salvage. Players get the map, you get this.
Vacuum. Suit up. Traffic control dark. The customs desk still has a queue rope up.
Dark. Emergency lighting only. Straps cut. Whatever was lashed here left in a hurry.
Log fragment (Deckhand) "Crate was fine at loading. Crate was fine off the tender. Crate is not fine."
Salvage the rest of the consignment, sealed and worth a great deal, to a buyer who must not know about the open crate.
Consoles dark. One chair is turned to face the door.
Log fragment (Cpt.) "Sealed the ring past spoke 3. Nakamura is past spoke 3. I have written to his family in my head a dozen times."
Cold. Frost on every surface. Reactor cold. Tools laid out for a repair nobody finished.
Hazard the ventilation grille is off and the duct beyond is scored. Something uses the ducts, and anyone who stands under an open grille is within its reach.
Log fragment (Eng.) "It is in the ducts. It likes the warm ones. I have turned the heat off in the ducts. I have turned the heat off everywhere."
Trail 3/3 The bottom locker, its seal unbroken. Inside: Tech Reyes's recorder, with the last day on it, all of it.
Shuttle still here, hatch open, seats empty.
Connections:

- Stairs at column 17, row 13 → Ring deck
- Ladder at column 16, row 1 → Ring deck
Lift and stairs up to the hub.
Something moved in here — recently. Scrubbers dead. The air is whatever is left.
Trail 2/3 The card's last door. On the wall in grease pencil, in Reyes's hand: "ENGINEERING, BOTTOM LOCKER." That is engineering (4, hub deck).
Lockers open. Whatever was worth taking has been taken.
Hazard the mattresses are stacked against the door, from the inside. Moving them makes enough noise to bring it: roll for an encounter.
All pods gone.
The notes stop mid-word. The pen is on the floor.
Hazard a sealed door with the seal on the inside. Whoever sealed it wanted out kept out, and is still here. Breaking the seal opens the one room it has never been into.
Salvage the specimen file, biometric-locked to the doctor. The doctor is in the lab. Most of the doctor.
Trail 1/3 A keycard on a lanyard by the door, Reyes's face on it. The door log says it last opened life support (2, ring deck).

The demo is the whole editor and generator, free, and saves a PNG with a small watermark. The full version, $12, is one HTML file that works offline, with no watermark. It exports the .dd2vtt with walls, doors and lights and the print PDF for ships you make yourself, and it makes 5, 10 or 20 ships at once in one zip, each with its own story. Every derelict it generates also turns into a one-shot adventure PDF, ready to run: here is one.
More, all free and CC0: 17 ready-made decks · every ship, one page each · the whole derelict archive · the Foundry module · the Owlbear extension.
