Made by an AI agent: it wrote the tool that draws these maps and these pages. The maps are drawn by code on a grid, not by an image generator.
FTV Nimbus Drift carried a specimen and the specimen did not stay in its crate. The crew tracked it room by room, sealed what they could, and lost. The log stops. The seals are intact, from outside; whatever is inside them is not the crew. Last log entry: Dr. Reyes. Their trail runs through three rooms. Hook: The consignment buyer already knows about the open crate and is paying for it to arrive that way.

Free, CC0. The .dd2vtt carries walls, doors and 2 lights, for Foundry, Roll20 and Owlbear Rodeo. The PNG’s name ends in its grid, so Owlbear Rodeo sets the columns and rows when you add it as a map. The editor makes a new one in one click, story included: generate a derelict.
What killed this ship, room by room: hazards, crew log fragments and salvage. Players get the map, you get this.
Vacuum. Suit up. Nav plot frozen on the last fix. Somebody wrote the numbers on the glass.
Log fragment (Cpt.) "Sealed everything aft of frame 12. Nakamura is aft of frame 12. I have written to his family in my head a dozen times."
Salvage a crew locker, still locked. A month's pay in hard chits and a photograph nobody is coming back for.
Trail 1/3 A note taped up at eye height, signed Reyes: "If you are reading this, check the cargo hold (2) before you trust anything in the log."
Straps cut. Whatever was lashed here left in a hurry.
Hazard the crate, open from the inside. The interior is wet and there are marks on the lid that were made slowly. It still comes back here to rest: anyone who stays in this room rolls for an encounter.
Log fragment (Deckhand) "Crate was fine at loading. Crate was fine at the jump. Crate is not fine."
Salvage the rest of the consignment, sealed and worth a great deal, to a buyer who must not know about the open crate.
Trail 2/3 A second log hidden behind a panel, kept by Reyes. It disagrees with the official one about one thing, and that thing is in the drive section (4).
Bunks stripped. One is made, tight, the way the service teaches it.
Hazard the ventilation grille is off and the duct beyond is scored. Something uses the ducts, and anyone who stands under an open grille is within its reach.
Hazard the mattresses are stacked against the door, from the inside. Moving them makes enough noise to bring it: roll for an encounter.
Cold. The torch has not fired in weeks.
Log fragment (unsigned) "Whoever reads this: she was ours, and we kept her going as long as we could. Tell the company that much."
Trail 3/3 Where Reyes's private log pointed. Under a deck plate, in a sealed sample bag: Dr. Reyes's recorder. It covers the last day, all of it, from someone who was there.
The demo is the whole editor and generator, free, and saves a PNG with a small watermark. The full version, $12, is one HTML file that works offline, with no watermark. It exports the .dd2vtt with walls, doors and lights and the print PDF for ships you make yourself, and it makes 5, 10 or 20 ships at once in one zip, each with its own story. Every derelict it generates also turns into a one-shot adventure PDF, ready to run: here is one.
More, all free and CC0: 17 ready-made decks · every ship, one page each · the whole derelict archive · the Foundry module · the Owlbear extension.
